I've tested the raw throughput on the local fiber link. With a 10Gbit/s BIDI connection and suitable hardware, line-rate performance is possible in both directions.

The next test checks performance over a init7 download. Speedtests give a good overall reference, while a dedicated download shows what happens when traffic is downloaded by browser. (Single TCP Stream)
iperf performance - with ipv4, ipv6 and ipv6 with
fasttrack.
hint: USE FASTTRACK! USE it ALWAYS. with ipv4 AND ipv6!
The setup uses a MikroTik CCR2004, Ubiquiti switching
equipment and 10Gbit/s BIDI optics. The goal is a clean,
simple and reproducible fiber setup.
Mikrotik is doing the routing, Ubiquiti the Switching.
Setup is a FTTO - Fiber to the office - LWL Backbone.
At the beginning of my tests i was very very unhappy with
the ccr2004 since it doesn't provide hw-offloading for ipv6.
speeds were very bad... luckily mikrotik enabled fasttrack
for ipv6 as well with router os 7.18... This was the best
decision of 'em, since otherwise you deal with low speeds on
ipv6.
The CCR2004 is a beast. IPv4 and IPv6 at 10 gig? No problem. 😎
If you decide to buy a CCR2004 - Make sure it's a rev3.
